Stefan joined Evan Moore Solicitors in October 2024 as a Director, heading up our Kingston office. He originally qualified as an attorney in South Africa before relocating to the UK, where he requalified as a solicitor. He is police station accredited and a duty solicitor.

With over 20 years of criminal law experience in the UK, including working at one of the country’s largest crime firms in central London, Stefan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm.

He has represented clients in a wide range of serious and high-profile cases, including armed robbery, drug offences, sexual offences, and murder. Notably, he was involved in the largest graffiti case in UK history. Many of his cases have attracted media attention and been reported in the press.

In addition to his criminal practice, Stefan is also a specialist in Food Hygiene law, having successfully represented hotels and restaurants facing prosecution by local authorities for breaches of Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations.

Stefan is known for his dedication and tenacity. Whether in the police station or in court, he is a determined advocate who fights tirelessly for his clients.

He is fluent in Afrikaans and has a working understanding of Flemish.

Richard Craven a consultant for Evan Moore Solicitors regularly appears before the magistrates Court and Crown Court.

Richard Craven was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in October 1995 and completed a specialist criminal pupillage at leading sets. In 2010, he attained duty solicitor accreditation and has been a longstanding member of the West London Police Station and Court Duty Rota Schemes for over a decade.

With over 25 years of continuous experience in criminal defence, Richard has built an extensive and respected practice representing clients at every level of the criminal justice system. He has significant experience conducting cases in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal, both as Leading Counsel and Junior Counsel, as well as acting alone.

He is particularly experienced in defending complex and serious cases involving allegations of sexual misconduct, serious violence, drug trafficking, and firearms or weapons offences.

In addition to his practice, he has contributed to legal education as a visiting lecturer at the University of Ulster, where he provided advocacy training to trainee solicitors at the Graduate School of Professional Legal Education.

Sydney Bevan joined Evan Moore Solicitors in March 2024.

Sydney graduated with an LLB in Law and Criminology from Cardiff University in 2022. She subsequently completed the Bar Training Course at Cardiff University, for which she received a scholarship of excellence as recognition of her merit.

Sydney plays a key role in supporting clients, particularly recognised victims of modern-day slavery with conclusive National Referral Mechanism (NRM) grounds, across a wide range of cases. Her responsibilities include meticulous case preparation, assisting counsel at conferences, and taking thorough client instructions. She has contributed to various cases, including major Surrey and Metropolitan Police investigations.

Sydney was called to the Bar in October 2024 and will commence pupillage in April 2026 at a chambers in London.

Nell is a Trainee Solicitor at Evan Moore Solicitors. She completed her Legal Practice Course and Master of Laws (LLM) with Distinction at the University of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in Human Rights from City Law School.

After joining the firm as a paralegal, Nell secured a training contract and has since gained extensive experience in criminal defence. She has worked on a number of complex and serious cases with minimal supervision—demonstrating a high level of competence and commitment.

Nell manages a wide range of cases in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Court, including serious violent, sexual, and drug-related offences. She is known for her thorough, methodical approach and prides herself on delivering robust legal representation, leaving no stone unturned in the defence of her clients.

She is currently working towards achieving her police station accreditation.

Prior to qualifying in the UK, he practised as an Advocate of the Senior Courts in Zimbabwe, where he represented clients in both civil and criminal matters before the superior courts.

His background has equipped him with a broad and nuanced understanding of the law, allowing him to draw from a diverse range of legal systems and sources. This international perspective enhances his ability to navigate complex legal issues with insight and flexibility.
